From humble beginnings in 1993 servicing the Sydney fine arts market and film industry, Man and His Van is now a well established furniture removals and storage company

The Man and His Van removalist van was first seen on the Sydney streets in January 1993. With an opening for a competitively priced and reliable removalist in the fine arts sector, Man and His Van took advantage of this opportunity. Working seven days a week, we had relationships with the individual antique markets and antique dealers. We were also the main carriers for some of the leading Sydney auction houses specialising in antiques and fine arts.

At the same time, the Sydney film industry was booming and we were kept busy picking up and delivering props for film and photographic shoots. Many of the antique dealers and furniture shops would insist the props could only be moved by Man and His Van – “If you don’t use Man and His Van you don’t get my stuff for your film”.

Earning our stripes before moving into home removals.

Household removals were the natural progression for us. The intricate and careful packing and moving skills that were required for the antique industry and designer furniture shops were put to good use as we progressed to furniture removals and office relocations.

Along with furniture removals came the demand for storage. We purchased our first storage facility at unit 6, 91-93 Old Pittwater Road, Brookvale and it remains the Man and His Van head office to this day.

The busier we became the more the demand for storage. We made the easy decision to purchase more buildings to cope with the storage demand. Man and His Van now own and operate four storage facilities in the Sydney area.

Unlike our storage competitors, our storage is designed for furniture. We pride ourselves with the great care taken when moving our client’s belongings into our stores.

They moved a house we had been in for 30+ years to a place with steep driveway and stairs with heaps of boxes and very large pieces of furniture. All done with smiles and complete care. We also had a couple of smaller moves and will require another small move of a lounge soon. They are members of the furniture removalists association which was important to us. They were great with their communication. Their location is easy to access  and plenty of parking. You can get your boxes, tape, bubble wrap etc there and you will be greeted warmly no matter how often you go there plus you may get to meet the lovely 4 legged mascot Joey 😍. Oh and you get $ back on returned boxes, provided they were bought new. This doesn't apply to boxes bought 2nd hand and fair enough. These guys don't pressure you, as others did. They also don't ask for reviews, I had to ask them which is something I like. I can see why they have been around for so long. The guys who did our actual move were amazing. The planning was great, their communication with me and between each other was 100%. They were fit and strong, my god they were fit.  They had little laughs with each other which put me at ease cause it showed they were a team and knew what they were doing, all 4 of them. I really really recommend Man and his van for your removals and thanks to you all for making this stressful time so much less so. See you next year, just for one small lounge phew.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dan and his team really care. I had to ring around to find an emergency removalist on a Friday afternoon late. Everyone rejected me. Everyone. I tried 30 x removalists. Dan didn’t. He was the only one. He took the time to listen to me, to provide removalist options, but more so he would work Saturday from 7.30am to align with my deadline. The quality of their communications, good humour and attention to detail when moving and wrapping items was exemplary. Not only did they provide a large ish truck for my move, they had a back up additional truck parked in the street. As time grew tight, Dan himself and Zac added themselves to the team for a dedicated window of time to make sure that delivery was achieved. Nothing was too hard. They were first class. Prices were described in detail up front. Always in my control. You might go a long way to find a more dedicated team who genuinely focuses on delivery for the customer, as opposed to other movers who think their business is scheduling trucks. A top-class service in taking away our furniture as we ventured north to Brisbane, taking care of it for almost two years while we eventually found a house to buy and now helping ship it to us. I would just like to say a belated thank you to Scott and Dan who moved us. We were both incredibly impressed with their hard work, punctuality and customer service.

Our new apartment is on the 4th floor with no lift and no parking yet the boys worked tirelessly throughout and undertook the mammoth task with good humour and even when a second removal company arrived to move the flat downstairs.

They were a joy to work with, professional, polite, diligent, inspirational and very nice people.

It is often said that moving house is one of the most stressful experiences we go through in life. Strangely enough, it was almost a magical experience. Even though the rain steadily increased, Ian and Nick turned up nice and early with bright and cheerful attitudes and set about carefully loading up the truck with all my possessions.

Never once did they complain, instead saying “you can only get wet once” and “this reminds me of home”. They were a joy to work with, professional, polite, diligent, inspirational and very nice people. Despite the weather and the drenching the boys received, all the boxes and furniture seemed barely touched by the rain and nothing was broken during the move.

I was also very impressed at how the boys very cleverly manoeuvred some heavy and difficult pieces of furniture through narrow stairwells, turning and twisting. I am very grateful to Man and His Van and to Ian and Nick for helping me through a challenging day and turning it into a magical experience. Attitude and a good heart are everything.

Well once again the boys from Man and His Van, did an outstanding job.

This time Rhyss, Luke and I were blessed with clear blue skies and sunshine until the move was complete and then it rained. Unlike last time when Ian and Nick cheerfully worked through torrential rain all day, soaked to the skin and yet somehow my furniture remained dry! Magic.

The Removalist business is one of those things that quietly goes on in the background, something we don’t think about until it’s time to move home or office and then it becomes the most important factor in life for that time frame. Choosing a good, reliable, professional Removalist company is critical. When I moved after selling my home 6 months ago, my solicitor highly recommended you after she had called you to help her move offices and also her home. That was all I needed to make my decision, after being flooded by leaflets and pamphlets in my letterbox, word of mouth recommendation is so important.

Professional, efficient, polite and particularly careful.

I just wanted to pass on our sincere praise and gratitude to the 4 removalists that moved us last Tuesday. Matt, Mark, Matt and Paul were truly fantastic – professional, efficient, polite and particularly careful.

But most of all without exception they all had such great, helpful attitudes and made our move by far the easiest ever! As keen renovators, we seem to move frequently and we have never before experienced such a stress-free and successful move. The way that they were able to carefully stack so much of our furniture into our storage unit was truly amazing!

It was also quite difficult to move the other items which came to Bilgola with us, as the access here was shocking, but the guys remained cheerful right to the last item! We have used several other local companies in the past and have experienced rudeness and bad attitudes, dirt and sweaty marks on furniture and careless stacking of belongings which has nearly always caused damage to our belongings. We will definitely be calling you every time we move in future and we have already started recommending you to others.
